Crysis Wars is the multiplayer component included with Crysis Warhead, and expands on the multiplayer experience you’ve found in Crysis.
There’s one new game mode: Team Instant Action. Respawns happen furthest away from enemies, closest to team-members, frags are tracked per individual and per team.
The heads-up-display was overhauled so that all important game mode information is now visible at once, and how objectives are displayed in Power Struggle was improved. Several other tweaks and improvements have been made in cooperation with the community.
All game modes now also support overtime.
If that’s not enough, it includes 8 new maps, including all levels from [Crysis] as well as the Tournament Pack maps (and improved maps from the Christmas Map pack). No need to ever get anything else! The maps are: Coast, Graveyard, Battleground, Treehouse, Peak, Stranded, Tarmac and Ruins. The level Tarmac is exclusive for PowerStruggle mode.
The later-released Holiday 2008 Map Pack introduced Frost and Savanna, for Team Instant Action and Power Struggle respectively.
The Armored Security Vehicle from Warhead also participates in the battlefield, as well as the AY-69 Micro Machine Gun and the FGL-40 Automatic Grenade Launcher. The rest of the weapons were also reworked to amplify their strengths and weaknesses in the realm of on-line multiplayer.
This is the definitive Crysis multiplayer experience!
It is also the standard modding platform for CryEngine 2. Crytek has improved the engine in response to what Crysis modders needed most. For all the latest and greatest in CryEngine 2 features, look no further than Crysis Wars.

The latest version only works on a LAN.
You will have to patch the game, we recommend you try the CryServ Network.
Note: You need to forward the port 64100 on UDP in order to host a game over the Internet.
The game had a few Free Trial periods, and even removed any LAN restrictions from the last build making the game free:
Q: Can I really play LAN for free?
A: Yes, you are allowed to install the game on as many machines as you want.
