The ultimate supersoldier

We are very proud to introduce the Nanosuit 2.0 in Crysis 2. It’s a new and improved version of the well-known Nanosuit from Crysis 1 and lets players express themselves in a much better way than the first version of the Nanosuit did. It’s a lot more about individual play styles rather than prescribed modes. The technologically advanced Nanosuit 2.0 lets gamers switch back and forth between two key tactical modes, Stealth and Armor. They can surprise the enemy with a creeping attack, or simply blast their way through each obstacle.

Epic Story

The world has been ravaged by a series of climatic disasters and society is on the verge of total breakdown. Now the aliens have returned, with a full invasion force bent on nothing less than the total annihilation of mankind, starting by trying to rip the heart out of Earth’s most iconic city.

In New York, terrifying alien invaders stalk the streets and a nightmare plague strikes down the city’s myriad inhabitants with brutal epidemic speed. The city’s systems are in chaos, its streets and skyline are smashed and in flaming ruin. This is New York City like you’ve never seen it before.

Neither paramilitary law enforcement nor the might of the US military machine can stand against the invaders, and all who choose not to flee are dead men walking. Just to survive in this maelstrom of death will require technology beyond anything any modern soldier has ever seen. One man will inherit that means to survive.

One supersoldier, wielding the combat enhancement technology of the future with Nanosuit 2, will make the last stand to save humanity from destruction in the urban jungle that is New York City.

Maximum Force.

The AI, both in human and alien form, plays a very important role in the story of Crysis 2. Players will meet a bunch of challenging encounters with unprecedented AI in the game. The AI will react to player actions while simultaneously navigating the game environment in new and interesting ways. The new setting of the game, New York City, offers great possibilities for vertical gameplay over the traditional Crysis sandbox and the AI will definitely use that to their advantage. You will be pleasantly surprised and challenged!

Choreographed Sandbox in New York City

Crysis 2 moves away from the big, lush jungle and takes place in one of the most important cities of the world, New York. The city offers spectacular opportunities for vertical gameplay. The player can jump between different stories or onto buses or trucks, drop down into craters and fissures in the city’s streets and leap from one building to another.

Additionally, the urban environment offers a large visual language which gives the possibility to introduce new toys to Crysis sandbox gameplay. Crysis 2 combines the intensity of linear FPS games with the open sandbox gameplay that Crytek and Crysis are known for. Choreographed sandbox makes for an amazing gameplay experience.

A patch by the community was issued to revive the on-line service functionality.

There does not appear to be a way to get the two Multiplayer DLC Packs via any physical editions.

The Maximum Edition that can be bought on Steam contains all of them.

The Decimation Pack upgrades the multiplayer experience with 5 new battle-torn maps supporting all game modes – 5th Avenue, Chasm, Plaza, Prism, Apartments; and 2 new equipment items – the FY71 Assault Rifle and M18 Smoke Grenade.

• The Multiplayer Demo was incredibly popular and caused its GameSpy-powered on-line service to break down many times.
• Despite being a 2011 game of the AAA variety, the install disc does not mandate the use of a client such as Steam or Origin. That is accompanied with a wealth of support files.
